The Educational Mission Statement
St. Mary’s Parish, Greensburg, Indiana

The educational mission of St. Mary’s Parish, Greensburg, Indiana is to promote Total Catholic Education to all youth, young adults, and adults of the parish through proclaiming the message, building community, engaging in service and fostering prayer and worship.

To achieve this end, St. Mary’s Parish will:

  • Maintain a Catholic school and religious education programs for our children;

  • Promote young adult and adult religious education

  • Provide a secure future for these programs through sound financial backing and Stewardship.

 

Faith Formation Commission

The Faith Formation Commission consists of six representatives, the pastor, and the Director of Religious Education of St. Mary’s Parish. The functions of the Commission are:

  • To determine goals and objectives for Catholic Education within its responsibilities.

  • To formulate policies that will guide the administrator in working toward the goals and objectives.

  • To review the rules and decisions made by the administrator in implementing policies.

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of the policy decisions in achieving the goals and objectives.

      

Faith Formation Commission TeamPlan

 St. Mary’s Faith Formation Commission has been in the process of strategic planning for 3-year goals.  After a year of working with a facilitator and attending workshops sponsored by our Archdiocese, your Commission would like to share with you’re the goals that will be addressed in the next three             years.

 

Communication
 

Objective 1 – Establish & support a person or persons to coordinate a system of collecting & distributing information about faith formation to the parish.


Objective 2 – Provide current information about faith formation to the parish through various types of media.


Life Long Faith Formation


Objective 1 – Present different education resources to all parishioners on the importance of lifelong faith formation. 


Objective 2 – Organize weekly adult faith formation classes at St. Mary.


Involvement of all, welcoming & valuing


Objective 1 – 20% increase in participation of St. Mary’s parishioners in faith formation events within three years


Objective 2 – 75% of religious education families attend Mass regularly & other parish functions.
